Thank you for your reply. Actually after further investigation, it looks like your VPS was hit with a massive inbound DDOS attack which did take our complete network down for about an hour.
This is completely unacceptable and we do not allow our customers to utilize our services if they are to be attacked at such large scale.
Here is a snippit from our ISP.

First due to traffic levels, and the second due to the flow and packet
count, which is possibly the more significant of the two.
