Dear Customer,
due to adverse scalability problems within our SquareFlow Global Backbone, we will be migrating from OSPF as IGP to IS-IS for our entire global backbone, which can and will yield partial outages across all locations connected to the backbone. Brief periods of packet loss, severe detours or full outages can and will occur. Please do not be alarmed, our network operations center is actively working on it and connectivity will be restored as quickly as possible to any possibly affected services.
A maintenance like this is a very rare scenario and a one-time only occurance, we want to apologize for any damages / inconvenience caused. Our projected end of this maintenance is the evening of the 5th March. Please note that we are migrating each continent separetely, starting in the EU (finished as of 4th), then the US and as last Asia / Africa.
Update (5th, 10:45 UTC): We have finished migrations in most EU/US/APAC locations by now and are working on turning up all LERs (edge routers) again. We are yet to turn up all circuits within our backbone and routing might still detour heavily as of writing. There will be no more connectivity restrictions from now on except detoured routing, increased latency and potential packet loss on congested paths. |
